Yarchuk is a black, spirit dog with wolf fangs from Ukrainian folklore and broader Slavic mythology, believed to protect against evil spirits, diseases, and bad luck, and even feared by witches themselves. These protective spirit dogs were seen as guardians of the home and family, capable of warding off negative influences and attracting good fortune.
Key Characteristics and Beliefs
Protective Spirit: Yarchuks were seen as guardians against the evil eye, spoilage (curses or bad luck), and disease.
Wolf Fangs: A defining feature of the Yarchuk is the possession of wolf fangs, which enhanced its intimidating and protective nature.
Witch-Hunting Powers: These powerful dogs could not only see evil but also scare it away, making even witches afraid of them.
Symbol of Good Luck: By their mere presence, Yarchuks were believed to attract happiness, good luck, and wealth into a home

I sculpted this fierce guardian with an Africal rough black clay. On the right there is a white owl, as a symbol of wisdom, ability to see the unseen. It has also two 'third eyes'. At front there is a large Slavic Othal rune, meaning Home, Ancestor's protection and knowlege, wealth and prosperity. And glowing mushrooms on the left. Can be used as an incense burner, and the smoke will come out also from the mouth between fangs. Or as a candle holder.

30 cm tall (11,8 inches)
