First of all I'm a photographer, spending hella of a time in nature camping and trekking. My main times for photography are dusk, dawn and sunrises, times with the most mysterious energy, light, animal activity, and spirits activity. Time of a line between night and day. I decided to create a series of pottery using real photos, or combination of the photos, videos with wildlife and animals.
This mug is about 350 ml, handbuilt from a slab, without the wheel. I like how perfectly unperfect is it, earthy and real. I painted the scenery with the Ibex and mountains in dusk with a beautiful morning fog with underglazes. Glazed with clear, and with cosmic oil dark glaze around the 'photo' to keep the contrast. Drawing itself in not glazed as I liked a matte appearance, but it's sealed with a ceramic sealer, and is water/dirt proof. This mug is high temperatures fired, thus will survive dishwasher and microwave, but I would strongly recommend to handwash it and handle with love as so much time and work was put in it... This mug is one of a kind. I will create more mugs in this series :) But this one is unique
