This mug is an ode to Cranes. It represents good fortune, longevity, and immortality. It also symbolizes grace and wisdom in Chinese literature. Native Americans also see cranes as symbols of longevity and good fortune. In Greek mythology, cranes are considered messengers of the gods, especially Apollo, the sun god.
And honestly... what can be more beautiful than crane couple dancing together?
Mug is completely handbuilt with stoneware. I painted with underglazes all details. Used three different glazes layered in certain way, so the colors change depending on the light and vary all over the mug, dancing together with the cranes. Fired twice.
Holds 350 ml - 11 oz
Painting is sealed with a ceramic sealer. All is waterproof and food safe. Please handle with care. Dishwasher safe but handwashing is the thing here.
