My cave ceramic series.
I really enjoy to learn about old symbols, carvings, beliefs. This series is inspired by prehistoric cave carvings. Very abstract simple symbols but with very strong meaning.
This mug I made with a very rough clay and kept outer side unglazed for a raw and earthy feeling.
This mug is about 250 ml, made of stoneware clay, hand build. I painted it with underglaze, glazed the mug from the inside only with a foodsafe golden shino glaze. Outside mug is unglazed thus please clean it after the usage and don't leave it uncleaned for days. This mug is high temperatures fired, thus will survive dishwasher and microwave, but I would strongly recommend to handwash it and handle with love as so much time and work was put in it...
This mug is one of a kind. I will create more mugs in this direction as I love this character so much. But every mug is handpainted, with different details so your will always be unique.
